It’s been almost 8 years since I wrote this article, inspired by DESMA’s in-house exhibition – it would be very interesting how many of those visions have actually become reality. Or whether these visions can still do justice to today’s sustainability madness. I’m curious about all the information about what has happened since then!
Like most women I have a weakness for “beautiful“ shoes (comfortable or not) and my visit to one of the most important exhibitions for industrial shoe manufacture, which takes place every other year at the company DESMA in Achim, Germany, inspired me to find out more about the history of the shoe. Since countless books have already been written on the subject, I’m only offering a short overview, but with some exciting perspectives on the future, which were presented at the fair.
